Dr. Cormac Eason graduated from the University of Limerick in 2001 with a first class honours degree in mechanical engineering, with undergraduate engineering work experience in Cameron Willis, Longford and Arup Consulting Engineers, Limerick. Since graduating he has worked in the Stokes Research Institute, spending nine months in the Tyndall National Institute as part of his PhD work. Cormac completed his PhD in 2005 and is currently employed as a Research Fellow in the Institute, working on a Science Foundation Ireland funded project in collaboration with Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technologies, Trinity College Dublin and the Tyndall National Institute, Cork. His current research covers fluid flow and heat transfer from microchannels, the use of textured surfaces for fluid drag reduction in microchannel flows and mini/micro scale jet impingement cooling.
