Dr. Vanessa Egan is currently a lecturer in the Mechanical, Aeronautical and Biomedical Engineering Department and a member of the Stokes Institute. She has previously worked for Marine Computational Services (MCS) in Galway as a project engineer and as a postdoctoral researcher in the Stokes Institute. Her research interests include experimental heat transfer for applications in aircraft compartment thermal management, transport mechanisms of two phase solid-liquid and liquid-liquid flows and the cooling of the miniature scale electronic devices. She is currently supervising 3 PhD students having supervised one student to completion, has authored and co-authored over 40 refereed publications and attracted industrial funding from both Airbus and Rolls Royce.
