The SRI has capabilities in a suite of reliability analysis techniques which complement its research activities addressing hardware failure mechanisms. The techniques range from maximum likelihood data analysis for accelerated life tests - life distributions and stress-life models - to Monte-Carlo methods for the simulation of failure data. These tools and methods are used in the analysis of accelerated test data - or field failure information - in order to formulate physics-of-failure models. Reliability prediction methodologies are also the subject of on-going research at the SRI.
